Crucis ("the App") is a daily Catholic devotional app developed by Levitica ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and the https://crucis.levitica.ca website handle, and how. We have designed Crucis to collect as little personal information as possible.

1. Information We Collect

No Account, No Sign-In

Crucis does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not ask for your name, email address, or password to use the App.

On-Device Settings

Your preferences — such as selected quote categories, favorites, notification and widget settings, and chosen background — are stored locally on your device. This data stays on your device and is removed if you uninstall the App.

Content Delivery

The App downloads quote content from our servers so it can show fresh material and work offline. Routine network requests may include technical information such as your device's IP address and app version, used to deliver content and keep the Service secure and reliable.

From the IP address of these requests we determine the approximate country you are in, which helps us understand, in general terms, where the App is used. For this purpose we keep only the country, not the IP address. IP geolocation by DB-IP.

Subscriptions

If you purchase the Lumen subscription, the transaction is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. For this purpose we receive a pseudonymous app user identifier and your entitlement status (whether a subscription is active) — we do not receive or store your payment card or full billing details.

Website Analytics

We collect limited analytics on the public https://crucis.levitica.ca website, such as page views, referrers, and traffic sources, to understand how visitors find and use our website. The App itself does not use this analytics tool.

  • To deliver daily quotes, widgets, and notifications

  • To provide and restore your premium (Lumen) entitlement
  • To understand, in general terms, which countries the App is used in
  • To keep the Service secure, reliable, and functioning

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Most of your data — your settings and favorites — lives only on your device. Quote content is served from Supabase. We use reasonable technical measures to protect information handled by the Service, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because the App stores your settings on your device, uninstalling the App removes that data. Subscription records are retained by the app stores and RevenueCat according to their policies. If you have any question about data associated with you, contact us at the address below and we will respond promptly.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
