Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Crucis app and the https://crucis.levitica.ca website (together, the "Service"), provided by Levitica ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Crucis is a devotional app that delivers daily Catholic quotes — drawn from saints, popes, the Church Fathers, Gospel passages, and Marian apparitions — along with home-screen widgets and optional daily notifications. The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial, devotional use.

2. No Account Required

You can use the core features of Crucis without creating an account or providing personal information. You are responsible for your device and for any settings you choose within the app.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Crucis offers an optional premium subscription, "Lumen", available as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription. The following terms apply to all subscriptions:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your App Store or Google Play account settings after purchase.
  • Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Purchases are processed by Apple and Google. Refunds are handled under the applicable app store's policies; we do not separately process store payments or refunds.

4. Content and Intellectual Property

Many quotes presented in Crucis are drawn from historical, liturgical, or public-domain sources and are attributed to their authors where known. The app's curation, selection, design, artwork, and software are owned by Levitica and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the app itself without our permission.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, interfere with its normal operation, attempt to access it through unauthorized means, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

6. Service Availability

We aim to keep Crucis reliable and to deliver fresh content, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Levitica will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

9. Apple Standard EULA

If you download Crucis from the Apple App Store, your use is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where those terms conflict with these Terms for an App Store download, the applicable Apple terms govern that conflict.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
