Our Lord Jesus Christ
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven and was made man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. True God and true man, He is at the center of the Christian faith: the Word through whom all things were made, who lived among us, taught the way of the Kingdom, worked signs and wonders, and revealed the Father's love.
For the redemption of the world He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried, and on the third day rose again from the dead, conquering sin and death; He ascended into heaven and will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Through His Church He continues to pour out His grace in the sacraments, and He has spoken to many of the saints in words and revelations that call souls to trust, conversion, and love, as in the devotions to His Sacred Heart and His Divine Mercy. To Him, as Redeemer and Lord, the Church offers her worship and her whole life.
Selected quotes
“I promise thee, in the excessive mercy of My Heart, that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays of nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in My disgrace, nor without receiving their Sacraments, for My divine Heart shall be their assured refuge in that last hour.”
“I am Love and Mercy itself.”
“The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy.”
