CrucisSt. Anatoli Kiriggwajjo
St. Anatoli Kiriggwajjo was one of the Martyrs of Uganda, a young man who served in the court of King Mwanga II of Buganda, by tradition as a keeper of the king's herds, and who embraced the Catholic faith and would not forsake it when the persecution came.
Condemned with the other Christians in 1886, he was among those led to Namugongo and burned alive there on 3 June 1886, giving his life in fidelity to Christ with St. Charles Lwanga and his companions. Canonized by Pope Paul VI in 1964, he is celebrated among the Uganda Martyrs on 3 June.
