Why Pray, if the End is Written?

In 1917, Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children at Fatima and left the world with a glorious, unwavering promise: "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph."

It is a declaration of absolute divine victory. There is no caveat, no uncertainty, and no possibility of failure. God’s grace will prevail over darkness, and the Mother of God will reign alongside her Divine Son in ultimate victory over evil.

Yet, alongside this absolute promise, Our Lady asked for something specific from us: earnest prayers, the recitation of the Holy Rosary, penance, and daily sacrifices.

This brings us to a crucial question that many faithful believers ponder: If the ultimate victory is already guaranteed by God, why are our prayers and penances necessary? If the ending is already written, what difference do our sacrifices make?

The answer lies in understanding the mysteries of Divine Providence and the power of maternal intercessions. Our prayers and penances do not change the fact of the Triumph—they change its timing. They accelerate the coming of God's kingdom and hasten the fulfillment of His promises.

The Divine Blueprint and Human Cooperation

God, in His infinite wisdom, chooses to involve human instruments in the unfolding of His divine plan. He does not need our prayers, but He desires our participation. Through prayer and penance, we become active co-workers in the spiritual battle for souls, aligning our human will with His divine will.
