St. Carlo Acutis

St. Carlo Acutis (3 May 1991 – 12 October 2006) was born in London to Italian parents and raised in Milan. An ordinary, cheerful boy who loved computers, video games, and soccer, he was also marked from childhood by an extraordinary faith, centered on daily Mass and deep love for the Eucharist, which he called "my highway to heaven." Largely self-taught in programming, he used his skills to build a website cataloguing reported Eucharistic miracles throughout history, creating a digital exhibition that has since traveled the world.

Known for his kindness to classmates, his defense of those who were bullied, and his generosity to the poor and homeless, he offered his sufferings for the Church and the Pope when he fell ill with acute leukemia, and died at only fifteen, asking to be buried in Assisi, the town of St. Francis whom he loved. Beatified in 2020, he was canonized by Pope Leo XIV in 2025 — hailed as the first millennial saint and a patron and model for young Catholics in the digital age.
